Rhodanthe House
Rhodanthe House has an occupancy of 3 children of any gender aged between 16 and 18 years old. We can provide accommodation for young people up until their 19th Birthday if this is identified as a part of their care plan and enables them to complete their education or training course and provide continued consistency to their day to day lives.
Upon arrival or as a part of the transition period, all children are encouraged to personalise their bedroom, so to encourage a deeper sense of connection and safety within their home. They are provided with toiletries, new bedding, towels and a TV to help them settle into their space.
Pathway 360 Care runs a 6 week assessment period for each of the children when they come to stay with us and this helps to identify the areas in which they require the most support, as well as areas of interest and establishes the core aims of the placement. This process is held in collaboration with the child, professionals and parents where appropriate.
Pathway 360 Care utilises a trauma informed approach, coupled with the two hands of parenting as a way to best support our young people in their journey towards independence.
Rhodanthe House is a spacious 6-bedroom house, which comfortably Can sleep up to 4 young people. There is an open plan kitchen, dining and living area downstairs and the kitchen is equipped with all the necessary utilities and goods to enable the children to undertake their life skills and help with cooking, washing and household chores. Each of the bedrooms has its own shower and toilet facilities and affords the children space to relax, store their belongings and have a desk/workplace should they wish. On the second floor of this home there is an additional kitchenette, this allows the young people to have additional space to cook and develop new skills. There is a separate utility room and the office and located on the ground floor.
The home is a short distance away from the nearest city of Southampton (13 miles). It is situated in a quiet area and is well maintained. The nearest train stations are Totton (9 miles) and Southampton Central (12). Local amenities are also a short distance away, which include shops, sporting and leisure facilities. Within walking distance is the New Forest National Park and close by are several beaches.
The home has a well maintained garden area, equipped with furniture for the children to enjoy with friends or the staff during the warmer months.
There is a separate office, sleep in room and bathroom for staff use in each of the homes.
Our young people have access to the homes Wi-fi connection.
Rhodanthe House is staffed 24/7 by a member of our team.
